Sustainable House Integrates a Roof Terrace by Chris Pardo Design: Elemental Architecture

Wren House is a residential project designed and completed by Chris Pardo Design: Elemental Architecture in Missoula, Montana. It was built with sustainability in mind, for the homeowner and his family have a deep respect for the environment. Boasting several unique sustainable features, the freshly built dwelling requires very little energy and heating. “The home is equipped with two solar arrays, a solar water system,  geothermal, LED custom lighting, and Optiwin high performance windows.”

The structure features two levels and a roof terrace that allows the family to enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding hills. The street façade seems a little bit rigid, giving you the feeling that the interior is barely lit. In reality it’s just a good way to add a sense of privacy. Light and warmth play a very important role in the house’s design. The sunlight gently enters through the floor-to-ceiling windows, oriented towards the courtyard. The house’s biggest asset is definitely the roof terrace, where one can enjoy peacefully the enchanting sight. Photo credit: Steven Begleiter

Charming Swedish Apartment Exhibiting an Original Floor Plan

It is difficult not to fall for the design creativity and layout this contemporary Swedish apartment puts on display! Located in Gothenburg, Sweden, in a beautifully renovated building, this home preserves charming details of the past, including an original turn of the century fireplace. Despite its relatively small surface of 60 square meters, the crib (initially discovered by Freshome on Alvhem) seems to have it all. A small hallway with just enough storage space leads the way towards the kitchen, living room and bedroom. Each of these interiors is personalized and exudes a welcoming feel

Walls painted in a lovely shade of white subtly contrast the classic oak floors in the living room. The former inhabitants of the apartment decided to break down the dividing wall between the kitchen and living space, resulting in an original open floor plan. However, our favorite interior remains the bedroom, with its serenity-inspiring color palette, king-sized bed and plenty of natural light

Contemporary Descendant of Retro Sphere Lighting: Atomic Suspension Lamp

Due to its polyvalence and sense of creativity allied to an expressive style, the Atomic suspension lamp by Delightfull is an instant eye-catcher. A contemporary descendant of retro sphere lighting, this project is a spot-on interpretation of the atomic age design. It consists of a set of glossy black and gold plated round shades, aligned by an asymmetric composition to enhance non-conventional molecular forms. As each shade evokes a petrifying effect, the lighting unit becomes an interesting focal piece in its own design universe

.Its imposing shape makes it a strong feature for a variety of private and public interiors. We were impressed by the photo below, where the “modern chandelier” was successfully embedded in a contemporary bar&lounge. As you can see, Atomic suspension lamp comes in several color schemes, making it easily adaptable to rooms with a twist.
